You, Kant, always get what you want...

Today I've left home with 100 euros. I've paid a 62 euros bill. After that I've bought some food for today, and other stuff I needed, about 25 euros. After lunch I've paid a parking note, 1 euro; then I've sent my granny a present, 6 euros; I've also bought a t shirt from a nice shop, 7 euros; finally I've gone to my mom's to borrow a book from her, and I've seen a beggar so I've bought him a flattering comment for 0.70 euros.

And I still have 3 euros in my pocket ???

Norwegian Wood

I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me...
She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine
We talked until two and then she said, "It's time for bed"

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood.

Day at the beach - Litha

Hey! I've finally done it... This year I promised to keep my wiccan routine up to date, and of course, I didn't do it, until today. Ivan, Ale, Laura and myself went to the north of Lugo, where we spent a delightful time eating, swimming and sunbathing, and also taking the rites seriously. Every single minute I find that my friendship with Ivan grows and grows. He is simply great. Also Ale and Laura. I'm just speechless. The trip has been perfect.

These are some pictures I've taken...

Those crazy romans...

This is the first year that I wear a roman costume during the Arde Lucus festival. It's been rather fun! Let me thank Ale for her support during the purchases, Andres and Noe for bearing me, and Dolo for making the difference. And let me add that Andres' sisters is so sweet... they surely kill any rude baby when born, in that family...

Bena's concert

On Thursday we had a great time together at Bena's concert. He only played a song, but it was rather cool. I hope we will repeat it soon!

Last travel to Costa Rica

Although it happened in 2004, I had never posted the pics before, just some of them, separatedly here and there. I have been there several times, so, maybe these are not the usual touristic pictures of incredible beaches and so... Let's say I just want to amaze you with an agressive nature (prepare your eyes for green)...

This is Braulio Carrillo National Park (the only reserved area crossed by a highway that I know... :P). It is a nice example of tropical rainforest.

This river crosses the park. My visit was during tropical summer, so the river was almost dry, but in winter it covers the area; and even in summer it is pretty dangerous if heavy rain happens up on the hills, because a waterhead can come down in less than half an hour, and sweep you (seriously, it has happened many times, sweeping (and killing) unfortunate tourists away).

This is the nest of an oropendola bird. They can be as heavy as 25 kgs.

This is me dressed as a redneck, under the leaves of a huge plant called "Poor man's umbrella". This is not in Braulio Carrillo. The picture was taken another day during a walking journey with my father through tropical cloudforest, which is rather different to the rainforest, as you can see.

Same place, but this time under a dying trunk, which is being devored by several parasite plants.

During that journey, my father told me that we would stop to eat at a place called London. That relieved me, cause it sounded like a sort of a village. Well, that hole you see is London, an old, derelict cheese factory, which has already been devoured by the jungle. London... whatever.

This is  baby orchid I found around some trees (which will become their victims, some day).

This is a not-so-baby orchid, at the National Orchids Exhibition, in San José.

This is my brother Mario, who took me there.

This is a traditional stone corn mill, still used by some indian women.

Any small bird you find, is rather colourful.

This tree is flat on the upper side because it is being killed by a parasite plant named "Matapalo" (treekiller).

Centipede found over the railway. Rather poisonous...

Can't recall the name of the plant, but precious, anyway...

Coffee plantation.

Did you ever imagine that a palm tree forest would have a clear limit?

Hibicus by sunset.

Amazing tree.

Believe it or not, this is part of a corn mill... XD

At a butterfly farm...

Wanna lick'em? (Homer...)

Or maybe better this one, cause it looks more psychodelic...

Shethessssspider, my precioussss...

Dad's house...

Marañon fruits at the local market.

View from Orosi.

During a travel to the pacific coast we found these friends 50 meters away from our road...

This is a kind of raccoon, named pizote. They behave like rats, always looking for food.

Godzilla!

Pacific sunset.

More pacific sunset.

Here you can have a bath in these waters which are directly heated by the nearby volcano... To me, all that water is human soup...

I found this peeper while I was having a shower at home... Kinky reptiles...

Cheesy lament...

Gloomy cookie

Today I'm not feeling very well, it's all this presure over me, and those around me, I don't know. Everything is going wrong. I have to pay a 120 euros traffic fine... I feel stupid (and contagious?). Again, perhaps due to the weather, I feel that I am wasting my life, my time, the talent some have seen in me.  And I just don't want to seize this moment, sit down to write about dark feelings, just like I used to... but, it simply makes me feel so young. I would love to put the blame on some teenage angst, but now I can't go out, and run away from everything I don't like. Maybe it's due to those strange dreams I've been having. In days like today I don't feel the passion, I feel like Manel, I understand him; he is never around these days.

Thankful

This is one of the first pictures Tony made me when he was my boyfriend. We went to Ribadeo for a nice weekend and I insisted on going for a walk on the beach, even it was November and the weather was chilly. I have stopped my chores today for 5 minutes to say thank you for making me happy (and taking nice pictures :D ).

Andres' birthday (First part)

This Saturday we organised a fake surprise-party for Andres' 22nd birthday... Congratulations!!! Well, I say "We organised" and I didn't do much about it... sorry again girls. Ale prepared lots of german food and we were all dressed in white lab coats because it was supposed to be a thematic party: german food because he is going to Germany for a long time, and white coats because he studies chemistry/engineering. I must admit that somewhen... I lost control... but not that much, just a bit, just for fun ...
Here you can find some pictures of the glorious night.

Pre-party excitement!!

Official picture for the media

Zum Geburtstag viel Glück!

Dark feelings undiscovered...

Prost!

As we all know, Andres' heart is hollow...

Next olympic competition: Fussball Frittes Throwing

No! Please! Life's wonderful!

Well, erm, if you appreciate me... please, don't ask what he was looking at...

Assorted pics from Japan

I hope you like them, but I don't really feel like commenting on them today, sorry :P...

More pics

The only reason for this post is to share these pictures of Atsuyo and me in a picture machine in Tokyo :), and to say that I have already voted for 1477 movies in Filmaffinity.com, soon I will get to 1500! Yay!

What a f*****g great evening!

Yesterday I went to have a drink with Andres and Noe, and what started as a mean to fill the time, ended up as a great conversation. We talked about lots of things and I personlly had a lot of fun and, what's most important, I got to know more about them. Thank you guys for a great time.
Moreover, when I persuaded Noe to take him home, he decided to make me a wonderful present. He told me the story of Évariste Galois, a mathematician who died young, during a duel. Thank you very much for that moment. I will keep it forever, as well as your bridges and roads.
When I was driving home I remembered a song that you would like. Ask me for it next time.

Jules and Nana

This is my sister Jules, during her first visit to Spain. She is the cutest sister one may have. I wish I will be able to visit her this next winter, because four years is such a long time. Anyway, missing her won't ever push me to be rude to my friends. I love you, Jules.

Cute Aachan!

This is my friend Atsuyo. I was looking for japanese penpals when I found her and we became friends. Later, when I visited Japan we decided to meet in person, and we had a wonderful time together. I will always remember that short day. She is really shy, but at the same time she is clever and superfun. I know we will be friends forever. But now I know she needs her friends around her, because she is not feeling very well. I write this to let her know that I love her. Atsuyo, be more self confident... I send you lots of love from Spain, where the sun is still up after 3 p.m. ;).
Note: This picture was taken in NamjaTown... the most incredible place in Tokyo (well, not the most, ... but almost!!!)

Rude afternoon...

Yesterday we went to watch how Andres was beaten at his rugby match... and we weren't disappointed, of course! They played against a professional team, so we stopped counting the goals after 30-0... It was a rainy and chilly afternoon, so I brought a blanket and some hot tea with me, and the girls bought juice and chocolates, but somehow Andres' father thought we were drinking cheap wine there and he even asked us when we were leaving... how embarrasing!!! I really had to show him the juice boxes, because he didn't seem to trust us when we said that we weren't drinking wine. I wanted to die... I mean, if that is his image on us... gosh, ... I scarcely drink!
After that we went to the cinema; we wanted to see Elegy, but none of us checked if it was being shown at the cinema (and it wasn't) so we had to see 21 (yawn!).
That was all, enjoy the pictures of this rainy Saturday.

Brave warriors proudly fronting their defeat (Andres is the furthest one).

Yay! It's over!!!! IT'S OVER!!!!

Congratulations, Ale!

Yesterday I summoned my friends for dinner at home in order to celebrate (good times, c'mon!!! (pipe-free version)) Ale had just finished and delivered her project... I prepared some sushi, Andres brought two wonderful (although a bit overcoooked ;) (just kidding)) omelettes, Ana brought soda, beers and her wonderful hot chicken burritos, and Ale herself showed up with wine, champagne and her mommy's calorie bomb: biscuit/chocolate cake... Yummy!!!

Everything was great and we had lots of fun. I was supposed to take pictures but I took such a deep responsability on playing the perfect host that I completely forgot about it. Anyway, I took a picture of the maki sushi before they came (I am so proud!!!) and here it is...

Paris revisited...

These are the pictures from my last travel to Paris. My friend Maria lives there and as a wedding gift, she bought me a ticket to the City of Light, and to stay at her chambre. It was a strange trip, that left me with a numb feeling. Anyway, many great things happened to us there (as always).

This was my first french breakfast. It would be much more appropriate if I drank any coffee... I know... peach youghurt ain't as romantic... But the croissants were hot and nice!

This is St. Michel fountain, near her former room. Message to stalkers: OK, guys, she doesn't live around there anymore, so please, stop plotting...

In this library begins a wonderful movie, Before Sunset (in fact, the second part of a wonderful movie; this is a fact file of this second part : http://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film564405.html). It was great that she knew this place and took me there.

This is a great niche we found at Père-Lachaise cemetery. I bet she was an incredible woman. She may have died quite young.

It was strangely difficult to take this picture by Jim's grave. There were security guards avoiding people to come any closer or to take (nor leave) flowers. I don't think he would have loved this... After that we went to Oscar Wilde's grave... I couldn't take any picture, indeed I was so touched by the closeness to him. There were many people around and they all remained silent, looking to the huge rock; I guess that, as I did, they may have remembered what they felt while reading his beautiful words.
A hilarious moment that morning ocurred when we found a note on Marcel Proust's grave, thanking him for the wonderful moments of social splendor achieved when talking about his masterpiece In Search of Lost Time (which only great brains among which I count myself not, can enjoy and understand).

Here we are, tired after a whole day walking up and down, taking a break at Canal St. Martin.

Do I really have to say where I am? We had the chance to watch a documentary about the building of the cathedral one night, inside of it. Nice evening.

Next day over the Rose Line, at St. Sulpice. What?? Don't you know where St. Sulpice is??? Haven't you read/seen The Davinci Code? Ok, then this is a wonderful moment to devote half a day to the reading of that absurd, poorly-written, but interesting anyway, american best-seller. Nevertheless, when you go there, please, don't forget to admire the great Delacroix paintings inside...

Different views of and from Montmartre. I couldn't visit it during my first visit to Paris.

We were looking forward to having lunch at Amelie's cafeteria: Les deux Moulins. Full of tourists and rather expensive, but no matter what, charming. Try the goat's cheese salad :).

Elaborating on the same topic, this is the little grocery in Amelie. It is strange how the owner has become a popular fellow, editing his own records and more stuff.

This is the ever disappointing Moulin Rouge. With it we finished another tiring journey.

This is the Sorbonne. You aren't supposed to get into it unless you are a student, but we pretended being foreign studients looking for information about summer French lessons, and we slipped in, hehehe.

This is the Panthéon. We had to choose whether to eat, or to enter, due to the high cost of the entrance ticket, so I said: take me a picture... we were here, we have already seen enough dead french glories to pay 25 euros for the ticket.

Resting at the Jardin du Luxembourg... nice picture :).

If you ever asked yourself "Would Mariana be so tacky to take herself a picture standing by a Lamborghini?", now you know the answer.

Compulsory pictures...

Another day, another mind. We took a tour on the sewers, learning amazing data such as the ratio rats/inhabitants in Paris: 3! Not so many! My face describes the smell better than words...

After the visit to the lower paris, we decided to take some fresh air... Eiffel Tower was so windy that the nasty scent was sweeped out of our cloths.

The last day and the last surprise: María took me to visit the first Chanel boutique, and while we were drooling out of its door, the butler offered us to go in and see it all. We were so nervous that we were unable to touch anything... just imagine we ripped anything!!! This was the perfect final for a great voyage!

Cheer up, honey!

This is Ale. She is the sweetest girl ever. She is having some hard days (weeks, months...) since she has to finish an engeneering project, and the deadline is flying over her head. C'mon, Ale! You know that you can! We are all around you to give you support. And this very next weekend we will burn the city ;-) . Take good care of you until then!

Japanese summary :)

I have almost 3000 pictures from my travel to Japan. Correction: Tony has about 3000 pictures from our travel to Japan. I only have access to these. I hope you like them...

This is me in a hotel, in Kyoto, typical tourist picture. We had been staying at a youth hostel for almost a week and we were really tired; some people just didn't behave so we finally decided to go to a small hotel on the other side of the river. It was fun, because nobody was able to understand us there, but when we got a room, gosh! privacy, hot showers, free tee, a king size bed and... 2 cotton kimonos... simply great!

This is the first geisha we saw in Kyoto, the first evening... In Kyoto you have to hunt for them, they are really timid. Our hostel was just by Gion, the geisha district, so we had many chances to see more than one. It sounds a bit like a safari, but if you don't want to pay in order to share a restaurant with several kinky bussinessmen who smile stupidly to those poor girls, you better go chase them when they are leaving the okiyas.

Bridge and lake outside Eikando temple. We had a typical green tea there (really sour, much more than the usual one) and some strange gelly sweets, covered with a kind of peanut dust. Wonderful morning.

Same day near the Path of Philosophy.

Kinkakuji temple, speechless.

These guys are English students who offer themselves to show you Kinkakuji temple as a practice for their class. Believe it or not they are 20 years old.

Quick visit to Osaka's Aquarium and Suntory Museum. So big and wonderful.

Pachinko building. Pachinko is a kind of national vice, they are everywhere. It is a place where you can play some sort of slot machines, but you don't need coins, instead you use silver balls. These buildings may consist on 3 or more floors full of machine rows. The music (noise) level is unbearable.

These girls meet on Sundays in central Kyoto, all dressed in 60's fashion and dance rock'n'roll with some other guys who look like an eccentric mixture of James Dean, Denny Succo, Elvis Presley, and the Chiquilicuatre....

This is Harajuku in Tokyo, where lots of gothic lolitas and cosplayers meet on Sundays and take over the streets. It is really colourful and fun. I bought many strange stuff in the cosplayers shops near there. Another great day, this time with my friend Atsuyo :)... Thanx!!!

We were so lucky that we could see two japanese traditional weddings :). This brought us back some nice (and recent memories).

This is the view from the 54th floor of the Metropolitan Government Center. This city is endless!

Skyscrappers in Shinjuku, the bussinness district, awesome...

Tsukiji fish market, 7 a.m. A weird combo of yawn! and yuck! The fish market is even bigger than Lugo's downtown.

Nikko is one of the most beautiful places ever. Going there once in your life is a must, specially in autumn, as we did.

I am now conspiring to return there with my mother in maybe, two years time, yay!

This harmful indiference...

It is a fact that I've owned many blogs, and I paid special attention to them when my life was dull, poor, and uninteresting... Some lost friend told me that it is when we are in our lowest point that we feel the urge to transmit this life from hell to anyone around us, then when we recover (if we ever do) our position, we leave the sad stories behind, and never transmit the good ones. For me that has been a biblic truth, and for that reason I've been blogless for many years :) .  Anyway, I see that I have many things to transmit, specially to those who mean something for me. And this is it. Welcome to ... here?

The happiest shojo

Here and There...
